The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission approved a proposed DC BLOX data center located at 305 Fintail Drive, on the east side of Indianapolis, near the Irvington Community Elementary School. The commission voted 6-1 in favor of the 32-acre project despite significant public outcry and months of protests from local residents.

The approval led to immediate emotional reactions from the audience, who had packed the meeting room wearing red and holding signs urging rejection. Opponents expressed their frustration, noting that their input seemed to be disregarded, and some individuals vowed to challenge the decision. Concerns about sound were addressed by DC BLOX, which committed to paying for up to two sound studies per year if complaints arise, and also increased the number of on-site jobs from 17 to 21.

Despite last-minute attempts by some counselors to delay the approval, these efforts were rejected. While the Metropolitan Development Commission has voted, residents are now considering potential legal action as they believe the fight against the data center is far from over.
