Rockwood City Council to Vote on Data Center Zoning Amendment
The Rockwood City Council is scheduled to vote on a proposed amendment to its zoning regulations regarding data centers. The Rockwood City Council is set to hold its regular meeting this Monday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. A key item on the agenda is a proposed amendment to the city's zoning regulations specifically concerning data centers.
The council will consider reclassifying permitted locations for data center developments, moving them from M-1 Light Industrial zones to M-2 Heavy Industrial zones. This change, if approved, would alter where new data center facilities could be established within the city. In addition to the zoning amendment, the council will also address several other municipal matters. These include a resolution to authorize a Letter of Intent to join the Certified Tennessee Downtowns Program for economic development, decisions on property and finance, and the reappointments and appointments to various public boards and city staff positions.
