Venue change postpones zoning meeting in Monroe County

A zoning meeting scheduled for Wednesday night in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, was abruptly canceled due to an overwhelming turnout of community members. More than one hundred residents gathered at the township building near East Stroudsburg, far exceeding the venue's capacity. Within 15 minutes of the meeting's start, officials determined the space was too small to accommodate everyone. Residents present were heard chanting "no data center," signaling strong local opposition to the topic being discussed. The meeting has since been rescheduled for next Wednesday at J.T. Lambert Intermediate School, a larger venue also located near East Stroudsburg, in an effort to accommodate all interested parties.
