Project Taurus, an AI data center proposed at an industrial park along Garden of the Gods Road, has sparked months of debate in Colorado Springs. Community members have voiced concerns about the data center's water use, noise and electricity demand, among other issues.
The city administratively approved the project’s development plan earlier this month — the first step in what is likely to be a months-long process to determine whether it receives final approval from city leaders.
Multiple appeals challenging the decision were submitted ahead of the 5 p.m. deadline Monday, including a 200-page appeal, filed by Ron Graham-Becker, Kate Kent and Kat Gayle from the nonprofit government transparency group Integrity Matters.
