Speakers and organizers, including congressional candidate Sean Bensen, Ben Jimenez, Chance Horton, Nicholas Hill, and Dr. John Fardal, emphasized the importance of free speech, community activism, and addressing perceived government overreach. Richard Summers, a member of the San Angelo Data Center City Coalition, explicitly referred to "the proposed data center," noting that "some of these projects affect not only the city, but the whole region."
