Prosper neighbors raise concerns over proposed Project Tomahawk data center
Residents in Prosper and neighboring Aubrey, Texas, are raising concerns about a proposed data center called Project Tomahawk. The project, planned for a 37-acre site near Parvin Road and FM 1385, faces a crucial zoning vote by Prosper's Planning and Zoning Committee. Opponents are worried about noise and the development's proximity to residential areas.
Residents in Prosper and the neighboring city of Aubrey, Texas, are voicing strong concerns over a proposed data center known as Project Tomahawk. The development, which would span over 37 acres along Parvin Road near FM 1385, is described by residents as inappropriately placed for their backyards, citing potential noise issues.
Prosper residents Ellie Blair and Eileen Blakowski, along with Rick Abraham from Aubrey, are actively urging officials to deny the rezoning required for the project. The Prosper Planning and Zoning Committee is scheduled to vote on the zoning change, and if approved, the proposal would then proceed to the city council for a final decision.
Despite the site being technically within Denton County and the city of Prosper's jurisdiction, the Mayor of Aubrey has expressed a desire for Prosper to keep Aubrey informed. In response, the Mayor of Prosper stated that the town intends to be transparent and provide opportunities for public input. A spokesperson for Project Tomahawk indicated the development could generate several million dollars annually in new revenue for Prosper.
