Fort Wayne City Council member Russ Jehl has introduced three resolutions to be discussed at an upcoming city council meeting, aiming to hold Google accountable for its data center promises. One resolution demands that Google demonstrate it is meeting specific benchmarks to continue receiving its tax breaks. A second resolution seeks clarification on whether funds from Google's land sale are being allocated to Southeast Fort Wayne as initially pledged. The third resolution proposes the creation of a permanent oversight board dedicated to monitoring data center projects, specifically referencing Google's development.

A representative from the Mayor's Administration confirmed that the land sale proceeds are now within the Redevelopment Capital Fund and are subject to approval by the Redevelopment Commission, not the City Council. They assured that 100% of these funds will be spent in Southeast Fort Wayne, also under the Redevelopment Commission's approval. The representative also noted that TIF district funds collected would be spent as promised, clarifying perceived confusion. The three resolutions are scheduled for discussion over the next few weeks before a final vote is called.
