Gregg Township passes data center moratorium
The Gregg Township Board of Supervisors has passed a temporary moratorium on new data center development, halting the acceptance and approval of new applications. This decision, however, does not affect the ongoing data center campus proposal by PNK Group within Great Stream Commons.
The Gregg Township Board of Supervisors, including Chair David Masser, Michael Keiser, and Arthur Masser, voted on Thursday to enact a temporary moratorium on new data center development. This resolution effectively bars the township from accepting, processing, or approving new data center applications.
The decision comes amidst a proposal by industrial developer PNK Group for a data center campus on land it owns in Great Stream Commons. During the meeting, supervisors clarified that the newly passed moratorium will not impact PNK Group's existing proposal, allowing their project to proceed unaffected by the temporary ban.
