The Oregon House Interim Committee on Climate, Energy, and Environment is scheduled to host an informational meeting today in Salem regarding data centers within the state. The session, set for 2:30 p.m., will feature testimonies from several industry representatives, including Amazon Web Services, ECOnorthwest, and Torus, Inc.
Key state agency officials from the Oregon Department of Energy, Oregon Water Resources Department, Oregon Public Utility Commission, and the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality are also slated to speak. Rep. Bobby Levy (R-Echo) serves as the committee's co-vice chair, and Umatilla County Commissioner Dan Dorran, a member of the state's data center workgroup, confirmed his attendance.
