Gov: Webster County, Commissioner Dale Fraker
Residents in Webster County, Missouri, particularly near Marshfield, are expressing significant concerns over rumors of a data center potentially being built in their area. Aaron Kuala, a local resident, voiced fears about the impact on home values, livestock, and the environment, including local ponds and wildlife, stating he moved there for his family and to get away from "all that."
The land in question is reportedly owned by Dunn Co 3, a construction company, and has recently been leveled with trees removed. However, Webster County Commissioner Dale Fraker confirmed that the county's commission only learned of the rumors recently via a Facebook post. Fraker highlighted that Webster County currently does not have a planning and zoning commission, which means projects like a data center could be built without local oversight, leaving the commission with "no jurisdiction" over such developments. He recommended that concerned citizens reach out to the entity behind the project directly.
