Gov: San Angelo City Council, City of San Angelo
The City of San Angelo has scheduled a special public meeting for Wednesday, April 22nd, at 5:30 p.m. at the McNease Convention Center. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed Skybox/Emergent data center project and gather community input from San Angelo residents. This follows an earlier decision in January when the San Angelo City Council approved the rezoning of approximately 350 acres of city-owned land. The land, located near U.S. Highway 67 North and City Farm Road, was rezoned from ranch and estate to manufacturing to accommodate a large-scale data center proposed by Skybox Data Centers LLC. The initial rezoning decision was met with extensive public discussion and concerns from residents. The upcoming meeting is designed to address "the most common and pressing questions" raised by the community regarding the project.
