Mystery company seeking to build data center in Goochland is Google
Google has publicly disclosed plans to explore a 1,200-megawatt data center complex at West Creek Business Park in eastern Goochland County. The announcement ends a nondisclosure agreement that had kept the prospective project confidential since 2024.
Google has confirmed it is considering construction of a 1,200-megawatt data center complex on properties at West Creek Business Park in eastern Goochland County, Virginia. The company and Goochland County had previously operated under a nondisclosure agreement signed in 2024, but both sides have agreed to make the project public.
Tract has submitted plans for a separate 900-megawatt campus, while the developer associated with another 200-megawatt site remains unclear. Goochland selected the eastern portion of the county for its technology district because of its undeveloped land and access to infrastructure.
