Residents voiced concerns over potential noise, light, air, and water pollution associated with the development. An attorney representing opponents questioned Prime Data Centers' project lead for over two hours on issues such as permanent job creation, traffic impact, and environmental challenges, highlighting the project's proximity to residential areas.
Prime Data Centers, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, presented its application, emphasizing the Starpointe Business Park's appeal as an industrial location with good connectivity and an active labor force, suitable for their development. The company stated its commitment to seeing the process through, believing the data center is the best use of the land and will bring new economic life to the industrial park. A controversy arose from a letter Channel 11 obtained, suggesting Prime Data Centers asked Alex Paris Contracting workers to attend the hearing as supporters. A VP whose relatives co-own Housing and Development, the land owner, expressed belief in local job creation.
