Data center developer sues PSO over allegations of unfair treatment
Central Texas Development, also identified as CSW, is suing Public Service Company of Oklahoma over alleged unfair treatment related to power access for two proposed data center projects in the Tulsa-area communities of Sperry and Uliga. The developer claims PSO delayed its electricity studies while favoring a competing project, allegations PSO denies.
Central Texas Development, or CSW, is seeking $250 million in damages from Public Service Company of Oklahoma over alleged interference with two planned data centers, Project Waterfall in Uliga and Project Snowflake in Sperry. The lawsuit claims PSO delayed studies intended to determine whether electricity was available for the projects while contracting with a competitor for Project Clydesdale.
CSW also alleges PSO sought an easement across its property and sent pre-condemnation letters tied to Project Snowflake after committing to provide power to the competing project. Community activist Kyle Schmidt characterized the case as an unusual look at the financial and legal disputes surrounding data center development. PSO said it strongly disagrees with the allegations and will respond through the legal process; CSW's attorney had not responded to the station's request for comment.
