Two crucial meetings are slated for Jefferson County, Indiana, this week concerning a proposed 7 million-square-foot hyperscale data center at the former Jefferson Proving Grounds. On Tuesday, May 19, the Jefferson County Council will convene a special meeting at 5 p.m. at the Troy D. Morgan Public Safety Center to decide on a proposed Economic Revitalization Area (ERA) that would encompass the former cantonment area.

The following day, Wednesday, May 20, the Jefferson County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) will host a public meeting at 5 p.m. at the Community Building of the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. This BZA meeting is described by opponents as "the only opportunity for our community to voice concerns" about the data center, which is proposed near the National Old Oaks Nature Refuge. The public can submit comments in advance via email.
