A new tool could help Iowans understand data centers

The University of Iowa has launched a free "Iowa Data Center Decision Tool" to help local leaders assess the potential impact of data center projects on their communities. Developed by the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative and the Tippie College of Business' Social Impact Community, the tool aims to support informed decision-making regarding data center developments across Iowa.

As data centers continue to pop up across Iowa, a new University of Iowa resource is designed to help local leaders weigh what those projects could mean for their communities before making decisions.
The free Iowa Data Center Decision Tool was created by the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative and the Tippie College of Business’ Social Impact Community. The team began working on it in February.
