‘Mr. Wonderful’ accuses Utah groups of being Chinese government proxies amidst Box Elder County data

Kevin O'Leary, a Canadian billionaire known as 'Mr. Wonderful' and a key figure in the Box Elder County data center project in Utah, has publicly accused anti-data center advocates in the state of collaborating with the Chinese government. In an Instagram post, O'Leary claimed a surge of misinformation on social media followed the project's announcement, asserting the Chinese Communist Party was responsible. He did not provide data to substantiate these allegations. In response, the Alliance for a Better Utah issued a statement challenging O'Leary. The organization offered to make their financial records public if O'Leary agrees to conduct a comprehensive environmental impact study for the data center and incorporates public feedback. Other local groups also responded to O'Leary's claims, with ABC4 Utah indicating they would continue to follow the developing story.
