UPDATE: Bryan City Council To Consider Tax Abatements For A Data Center On The RELLIS Campus That Is Already Under Construction

The Bryan City Council has scheduled a special meeting for May 5th to deliberate on granting property tax abatements for a data center project situated on the RELLIS campus. Mayor pro tem James Edge stated that a new, currently unidentified owner is involved with the building, which is nearing completion. City officials have disclosed that the proposed facility represents a $298 million investment. However, no further details regarding the company, construction timeline, or job creation figures can be released at this time. The Texas A&M system, which owns the RELLIS campus, has also declined to provide additional information. There have been no public indications that Brazos County or Bryan ISD are considering similar tax abatement proposals for the project.
