Armadillo Hotel to provide housing to data center supplier
Armadillo Workforce Housing has secured a multi-year contract with a major data center supplier to provide accommodations at its Pecos, Texas facility. This agreement addresses the anticipated demand for workforce housing spurred by numerous large-scale data center projects announced across West Texas, particularly in Reeves County. The company is actively pursuing further opportunities to support data center construction throughout Texas and the U.S.
Armadillo Workforce Housing, a division of Armadillo Hotel Group, has signed a multi-year agreement with an unnamed major data center supplier to provide accommodations, recreational facilities, and meal service at its flagship location in Pecos, Texas.
According to Michael Maloney, president of Armadillo Workforce Housing, this initiative will utilize their existing Pecos facility, with additional assets available to meet the expanded housing needs for this project and other upcoming developments throughout West Texas. The company, which has a network of hotels originally built for the oil and gas industry, is now increasing its focus on the data center construction market.
The agreement comes as West Texas, and Reeves County specifically, are experiencing significant investment in digital infrastructure. Maloney noted that Reeves County has seen several very large data center projects announced, and Armadillo is in discussions with other project sponsors to offer housing services. He expects a substantial influx of construction workers, potentially thousands, with varying numbers throughout the project phases.
Armadillo Workforce Housing is actively pursuing other data center-related projects across Texas and the wider U.S., leveraging its experience in building, owning, and operating workforce housing, along with its inventory of modular units.
