Path One Data Centers presented plans for a data center of up to 25 megawatts on about 12 acres in Estherville's south-side industrial park. The facility could employ 15 to 25 workers, and local officials will continue discussing data center rules before potentially sending the plan to the City Council.

Giles Ulanoff of Path One Data Centers presented the company's proposal at an Estherville Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Path One wants to build an edge data center of up to 25 megawatts on approximately 12 acres in the city's south-side industrial park, creating an estimated 15 to 25 jobs.

Ulanoff said Estherville's industrial-zoned land and available power capacity make it a strong fit for the company's rural data center model. The commission is scheduled to continue discussing rules for data centers on Oct. 29. If an agreement is reached, the proposal could go before the Estherville City Council on Nov. 2.
