Duos Edge AI has confirmed an ongoing $111 million data center expansion in an existing industrial park in Columbus, Georgia. This project involves repurposing a former call center and has not faced the same public opposition as a larger, separate data center proposal in the area, largely because its location is already zoned for such facilities.

Duos Edge AI has confirmed an ongoing $111 million data center expansion at its Columbus campus, located in the Corporate Ridge Industrial Park. The technology company is repurposing a building that once served as a Tissas call center for this new data center facility.

This specific project has largely "flown under the radar," according to WRBL News3's Chuck Williams, and has not triggered the intense public opposition seen with a larger hyper-scale data center proposed for Northeast Columbus. This is primarily attributed to its location within an existing industrial park already zoned for data centers, eliminating the need for extensive public input.

Neither the City of Columbus nor its economic development arm, Choose Columbus, have been directly involved in the Duos Edge AI project. While the end-user has not been disclosed by Duos Edge AI, which is part of Jacksonville, Florida-based Duos Technologies, the company's typical operating model suggests the end-user is likely located within 12 miles of the new facility.
