Milton to extend data center moratorium after three weeks

The Milton City Council is slated to deliberate extending a temporary ban on data center permit applications. After initially enacting a 30-day moratorium at a June 15 meeting, the council will now consider extending this pause until July 21 to accommodate necessary public hearings.
City staff are concurrently developing amendments to Milton's Unified Development Code, a comprehensive set of regulations, to guide and manage potential future data center developments. The upcoming council meeting on Monday, July 6, at Milton City Hall, will be open to the public for discussion.
