Greg Forbes, a member of the group "We don't want a data center in Lowell," expressed concerns that a data center project would "completely eradicate" the township's aesthetic, quality of life, and farming, and lead to water contamination. He stated that the group has attempted to communicate their concerns to township officials, but felt their pleas were ignored, leading them to erect the billboard.
Forbes indicated that multiple people have identified the alleged vandal, and the group intends to pursue all available legal actions. The Kent County Sheriff's Office took a report on the incident, but as of this report, charges have not yet been filed by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office, according to Chris Becker. The group remains committed to opposing the data center project despite these challenges.
