Morgan County voters will consider a nonbinding November ballot question on whether the county should restrict data center construction and operations. Commissioner Michael Woods said the results would help guide the three-member county commission as it evaluates the effects of data centers and potential restrictions.

Flinn and Khara Koffel organized a petition that collected more than 1,100 signatures to place the question before voters. The county has also extended its data center moratorium for six months, while supporters of the ballot measure say it gives residents a stronger voice in future development decisions.
