West Michigan resident Betsy López-Wagner along with a couple other residents formed Residents United for a Healthy Lowell in mid-November after a rezoning request for a $1 billion data center within Lowell Township was made public. An anonymous company, which later revealed itself as Microsoft, was in the early stages of scoping out Covenant Business Park, a 237-acre parcel at 4687 Alden Nash Ave. SE in Lowell Township. Residents United organizes through a range of online and offline activities, whether on social media, over the phone or in person at coffee shops and community meetings. The group’s public Facebook page has over 700 followers. (Isaac Ritchey | MLive.com)
