Conway residents are expressing significant concerns regarding a proposed data center project in southwest Conway, near the city's airport. The company behind this specific development remains undisclosed. Residents have utilized social media to raise environmental concerns and questions about potential tax abatements associated with the project.
In response to public feedback, Conway city leaders have scheduled a public committee meeting for May 12, 2026, at Conway City Hall, from 5 to 6 p.m., to allow residents to voice their opinions. Mayor Bart Casselberry stated that city officials are keen to listen and gather feedback from the community. Resident Josiah Dickens indicated that he and others plan to attend the meeting, hoping the City Council will consider their input, ideally pausing the project until more information about the company is revealed or negotiating a better deal for the city.
The discussion also briefly mentioned other data center developments in central Arkansas. Google is reportedly planning a data center in East Little Rock near the Sweet Home community, while AVAIO Digital intends to open a $6 billion data center south of Little Rock, near Wrightsville.
