3 Million Gallons Lost: AI Data Center Traced To Massive Water Leak

City officials investigating the leak discovered multiple code violations at the facility, including severe drainage issues and expired building permits.
A significant waterline leak in El Reno, Oklahoma, led to the loss of more than 3 million gallons of water, forcing local public schools to shut down for two days. The leak was ultimately traced to a privately owned fire hydrant located at a data center operated by Athlon BT, a tech firm based in El Reno. Athlon BT manages facilities for artificial intelligence networking, cloud computing, and Bitcoin mining.
During their investigation into the massive water loss and subsequent repairs to the waterline, city officials uncovered numerous code violations at the data center property. These violations reportedly included severe drainage problems and expired building permits. Both Athlon BT and El Reno officials have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the incident.
