The group is orchestrating protests across 37 states on Saturday, targeting the energy-hungry facilities. Specific examples include 18 rallies planned in Texas and four in New York.
This grassroots opposition is pushing Republican officials to advocate for increased oversight and "guardrails" for data center development. Adding to the momentum, New York recently made headlines by becoming the first U.S. state to impose a moratorium on data center construction.
