A Brookwood Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, where residents planned to question a proposed data center, was canceled due to the unavailability of legal counsel and the commission chairman. The meeting has been rescheduled for next month. Residents had previously raised concerns about potential noise and utility demands from the "Project Brookwood" data center.

The Brookwood Planning and Zoning Commission's July 14 meeting, which was anticipated to draw residents concerned about a proposed data center known as "Project Brookwood," has been canceled and rescheduled for August 11. Residents had utilized social media to organize and encourage public attendance to question the project's potential impacts, including noise, utility demand, and effects on nearby homes and schools.

ABC 33/40, a local news outlet, had planned to cover the meeting after observing the community's mobilization. A notice posted at Brookwood City Hall confirmed the cancellation. According to a letter dated July 8 from Jay Stuck, General Counsel for the City of Brookwood, the cancellation was necessary because both he and Planning Commission Chairman Chuck Brewer were unavailable, and no substitute legal counsel could be present. Stuck requested, and Brewer approved, moving all agenda items, including the data center discussion, to the commission's next regularly scheduled meeting on August 11, with new public notices to be issued.
