Drew Small, a South Nashville resident, is organizing a town hall meeting to address community concerns regarding a proposed data center by DC BLOX, slated for construction next to the Nashville Zoo. The event aims to inform residents and allow them to voice opinions before the planning commission makes its recommendation on crucial zoning changes within two days, with the issue then moving to the city council on July 7.

DC BLOX claims its design will mitigate noise, reduce water usage, and avoid extra costs for the community. However, Small and other residents fear significant environmental challenges, including poor air quality, water contamination, and increased electricity and water costs for the neighborhood.

The town hall, scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 6:00 PM at 1224 Martin St. in Nashville, will also cover a proposed moratorium on data center development and potential zoning modifications. Small has invited council members, conservation experts, and zoo representatives to participate, emphasizing the importance of empowering the community with information about the ongoing legislative developments.
