MIDA says it paused the Box Elder County data center. That doesn’t mean the project itself is stalled.
The Utah Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA) stated it paused the Stratos data center project in Box Elder County. However, Kevin O'Leary of O'Leary Digital maintains the project is proceeding "full steam ahead" and plans to file a water permit soon.
Kevin O'Leary, associated with the proposed Stratos data center project in rural Box Elder County, contradicted a statement from the Utah Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA). MIDA had indicated a pause in the project. However, O'Leary asserted that work on the Stratos data center is proceeding "full steam ahead" and that his team anticipates submitting a water permit application by the end of the following month.
The project involves the construction of a data center in a remote part of Box Elder County, with renderings already available from O'Leary Digital.
