The Delta Corporation has withdrawn its application for a proposed artificial intelligence data center in Citrus County, Florida, which would have required rezoning a portion of Holder Industrial Park. This decision follows Citrus County's enactment of a one-year moratorium on data centers due to public outcry. As a result, a scheduled meeting by the Board of County Commissioners to discuss the proposal has been canceled.

The Delta Corporation has officially withdrawn its proposal for a significant artificial intelligence data center, known as "the Holder Industrial Expansion," in Citrus County, Florida. The project, intended for the unincorporated community of Holder, would have necessitated rezoning a section of Holder Industrial Park along County Road 491 and Tram Road.

This withdrawal comes months after the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners enacted a one-year moratorium on data center developments in May. The moratorium was prompted by considerable public opposition and was specifically designed to allow commissioners ample time to develop municipal codes and establish clear parameters for future data center proposals, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Consequently, a meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, initially scheduled for next month to deliberate on Delta Corporation's rezoning application, has been canceled. The cancellation was confirmed via a public announcement on the Citrus County Government's Facebook page.
