Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen made a campaign stop in Hastings, Nebraska, where he presented his "2.0 Playbook" to voters, detailing his goals for a potential second term. Among his priorities, Pillen emphasized increasing affordability in the state. He proposed achieving this, in part, by eliminating tax incentives for data centers.
Addressing a question from the audience, Governor Pillen clarified that he is not entirely against data centers but insisted that any new developments must include plans for their own power infrastructure and must not negatively affect the state's water resources. He also touched on broader state issues, including addressing historical water management mistakes and protecting what he termed "Nebraska values," mentioning a constitutional amendment regarding transgender athletes. Pillen is running against Lynne Walz, Brett Lindstrom, and Rick Beard.
