Ohio County residents organize opposition to proposed Warwood data center
Residents of Ohio County gathered in Warwood to learn about a proposed data center and organize opposition to its completion. The Organized Residents of Ohio County is seeking a more proactive community response and plans to bring residents' concerns to county commission and school board meetings.
Residents gathered at the Ohio County Public Library to discuss the proposed data center in Warwood and learn more about data center development. The meeting was organized in part by Amanda McHorder of the Organized Residents of Ohio County, who said the group wants to move beyond reacting to the announcement and develop a long-term strategy for data centers in the county.
McHorder encouraged residents to stay engaged, seek answers from experts and ensure that community voices are heard by local officials. The group plans to expand its outreach to the Ohio County Commission and Ohio County Board of Education while continuing its pushback against the Warwood project.
