Data center developer sues opponents over social media posts
Data center developer Trent Overhue and NSI A.1. LLC filed defamation lawsuits against two opponents of a proposed project in the Marshfield area. The suits allege that social media posts made misleading claims about the facility and caused more than $1 million in damages.
Trent Overhue, a partner in Lumon Solutions LLC, and NSI A.1. LLC have filed defamation lawsuits against Katherine Wiltse and Gail Peak Brown, opponents of a small data center project near Marshfield in Webster County. The lawsuits allege that the women made false or misleading statements about the project in social media videos and posts, including claims about fires at the facility, and seek damages and jury trials.
The project has drawn significant community opposition, including a Webster County Commission town hall attended by hundreds of residents. Overhue is also seeking to develop a small data center at a separate site on South National Avenue in Springfield. Neither Overhue nor his attorney, Chad G. Mann, immediately responded to the publication's request for comment.
