Candidates Peter Crosby and Carlton Bowen said opposition to the proposed Stratos Data Center Project has emerged as a unifying concern among northern Utah voters across the political spectrum. Crosby also pointed to affordability, rising fuel and housing costs, health care, water and government accountability, while noting interest in the Great Salt Lake.

Unaffiliated candidate Robert Moesinger said voter frustration with the two-party system is the district's strongest shared sentiment. Republican Rep. Blake Moore and Libertarian Daniel Cottam did not respond to interview requests; the article also included information about voter registration and the November general election.
