Louisiana Senate Candidates Offer Differing Views on Data Center Development

With Election Day approaching, Louisiana’s U.S. Senate race is drawing attention as Democrat Jamie Davis challenges Republican Julia Letlow. In this report, LPB’s Christina Jensen examines where the candidates stand on key issues facing Louisiana voters, including the cost of living, health care, data center development, and carbon capture. Davis calls for a higher federal minimum wage and greater oversight of data center projects, while Letlow highlights tax cuts, energy production, and economic growth. The report also explores questions surrounding transparency and Letlow’s ties to Meta before its Richland Parish data center project was publicly announced. As voters prepare to head to the polls, the candidates offer different visions for Louisiana’s economic future and the role of government in shaping it.
