The Gallatin City Council in Tennessee is scheduled to vote tonight on a proposed 12-month moratorium on new data center projects. Concurrently, the council will also consider a similar 12-month pause on new apartment developments.

According to a councilman who spoke to News 2 this past summer, the city is experiencing significant strain on its infrastructure. The official stated that Gallatin is "reaching a breaking point" in approving new developments without adequately improving existing infrastructure. Both measures are up for an initial vote on their first reading.
