David Dillie discusses run for Georgia House District 161
David Dillie, a Democratic candidate for Georgia House District 161, identified data centers as a major issue in the district. He said state leaders should consider a moratorium or pause on data center development, while also discussing cost-of-living and healthcare concerns.
David Dillie, a 24-year-old construction worker and Democratic candidate for Georgia House District 161, said data center development is among the district’s most significant issues. The district includes parts of Chatham and Effingham counties, where residents have also raised concerns about housing costs, wages, property taxes and healthcare access.
Dillie said he is considering how Georgia could establish a moratorium or pause on data center construction. The candidate is also facing open investigations in Georgia and Nevada related to his voting history, which he said he does not yet fully understand. He will face incumbent Republican Bill Hitchens in the Nov. 3 election.
