State Road 2 reduced to one lane for diverging diamond construction in St. Joseph County
State Road 2 in St. Joseph County, Indiana, will see extensive lane restrictions for diverging diamond construction near New Carlisle. This project by the Indiana Department of Transportation aims to manage increased traffic generated by the new Amazon Data Center and a Samsung battery plant.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced extensive lane restrictions on State Road 2 in St. Joseph County, Indiana, starting Wednesday. The westbound lanes will close to facilitate construction of a diverging diamond interchange at Larrison Boulevard, reducing traffic to one lane in each direction on the eastbound side of the highway.
This major road project near New Carlisle is being implemented to accommodate a significant increase in local traffic. INDOT stated the rising traffic volume is attributed to the presence of a new Amazon Data Center and a Samsung battery plant in the area.
