The Oklahoma City Council voted 6-3 to rezone two properties near I-40 and Frisco Road for a proposed data center campus. The rezoning had been delayed repeatedly, while Mayor David Holt requested a six-month extension of the city’s data center moratorium, which does not apply to this previously submitted proposal.

The Oklahoma City Council approved rezoning for two properties at 3025 N. Frisco Road and 13921 NW 23rd Street, clearing the way for their inclusion in a larger proposed data center campus in western Oklahoma City. The properties will move from agricultural and existing planned development zoning into new planned unit development districts. The Planning Commission had recommended approval subject to technical review conditions.

The rezoning decisions had been postponed several times since March and faced little opposition. Mayor David Holt said he had requested a six-month extension of Oklahoma City’s existing data center moratorium, but the moratorium does not apply to this project because its proposal was submitted before the moratorium took effect.
