Sheboygan's City Plan Commission has enacted a temporary, 12-month moratorium on large data centers within city limits. This ban applies to data centers over 10,000 square feet and will remain in effect until the city develops and passes new regulations for these facilities. Once new rules are established by the full City Council, data center projects can resume under the updated guidelines.

The Sheboygan City Plan Commission has moved to implement a temporary, year-long moratorium on the development of large data centers within the city.

The measure prohibits discussions on new data centers that encompass at least 10,000 square feet of floor area, whether in a single building or across multiple structures on a single parcel. This pause is intended to allow the City to develop comprehensive regulations specifically for such establishments.

Once these new regulations are reviewed and passed by the full City Council, future data center plans will be able to proceed in accordance with the updated rules.
