Contractors file over $136M in liens against SpaceXAI for Memphis data center work
Multiple contractors, including Darana Hybrid, have filed over $136 million in liens against SpaceXAI for unpaid construction work on data centers in the Memphis area. More liens are expected to be filed in Mississippi, potentially increasing the total owed to over half a billion dollars. The non-payment has significantly impacted the owner of Darana Hybrid.
Darana Hybrid, a mechanical contractor owned by Darrell Cuttell, has filed liens totaling over $136 million against SpaceXAI for alleged unpaid work on data centers near Memphis, Tennessee. The liens, filed with the Shelby County Register of Deeds, claim SpaceXAI owes $118 million for work at the Tulane Road Colossus II data center in Whitehaven and $18 million for construction at the Colossus facility near Boxtown.
Dima Amro, a reporter for the Memphis Business Journal, reported that Darana Hybrid is one of several companies, including USW-Menard Inc. and TorcSill Foundations, that have filed liens. Amro also indicated that Cuttell expects to file additional liens for construction performed at SpaceXAI facilities in Southaven, Mississippi, which could bring the total alleged debt to over half a billion dollars.
Cuttell expressed significant personal distress over the dispute, stating he has not slept in months and has lost weight. SpaceXAI did not respond to Action News 5's request for comment regarding the allegations.
