The tour aims to gather community input and advocate for increased municipal control over data center placement, highlighting concerns regarding water, electricity, and natural resources.
The visit specifically addressed Project Taurus, a proposed data center near Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs City Council recently held a contentious session on the project, where 126 out of 148 registered speakers expressed opposition, leading to four arrests.
Amy Kremer, chair of Humans First, emphasized the group's goal to connect with Americans experiencing the impacts of data center expansion. The City Council has postponed its final decision on Project Taurus until April.
