Raeden proposes a 450,000 square-foot data center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, within a former Intel plant. A public meeting was held where Raeden's CEO addressed community concerns regarding the project's power and water usage. The facility is expected to consume 50 megawatts of power and use a minimal amount of water via a closed-loop system, potentially creating 40-100 local jobs.

A public meeting was convened in Colorado Springs to discuss a proposed 450,000 square-foot data center by California-based firm Raeden. The project, slated for the former Intel microchip manufacturing plant along Garden of the Gods Road, has been under discussion with the city for over a year. Raeden founder and CEO Jason Green addressed a packed room of concerned residents at the Hyatt Place hotel, detailing the data center's plans. He stated the facility would use approximately 50 megawatts of power daily, which is half of the building's previous capacity as a chip plant, and would be the highest-powered data center in Colorado, surpassing Novva's facility. Green emphasized the project's minimal water consumption, explaining it would utilize an "air-cooled closed-loop system" that eliminates evaporation, thereby requiring no external water supply. The development involves demolishing three smaller buildings at 1565 High Tech Way to accommodate generators and chiller units, and is projected to create 40 to 100 permanent, high-paying jobs.
