Two major data center proposals are moving in very different directions in Southern Nevada, with a new project now under review in North Las Vegas while a separate plan in Nye County faces a legal fight after the county approved a ban.

In North Las Vegas, Switch is proposing a new data center at the Apex Industrial Park near Apex Power Parkway and U.S. 93. Switch has operated data centers in Southern Nevada for more than 25 years and has recently emphasized design changes it says address common concerns about data centers, including energy use and water consumption.
