Pima County hosts virtual meeting on data center zoning
Pima County Development Services is hosting a virtual open house on proposed zoning-code changes for new data centers. The county previously imposed a 120-day moratorium on new data centers in unincorporated areas while the changes are considered.
Pima County Development Services will hold a virtual open house to gather public input on proposed zoning-code changes governing new data centers. Staff will present the proposals and answer questions during the two-hour meeting, the second public session on the issue.
The Pima County Board of Supervisors approved a 120-day moratorium on new data centers in unincorporated areas on Sept. 22. The Pima County Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to review the proposed code changes on Oct. 28, while an online survey remains open for residents to rank the importance of potential regulatory provisions.
