Downtown Kansas City data center proposal rejected by Planning Commission on Wednesday
The Kansas City, Missouri, Planning Commission rejected a proposal for a 20-story data center in downtown Kansas City. The project was proposed by Miami-based Revitalization Unlimited. The developer can still appeal the decision to the City Council.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Planning Commission recently denied a proposal for a 20-story data center in downtown Kansas City. The project, put forth by Miami-based Revitalization Unlimited, sought to replace the historic Western Newspaper Union building on Seventh Street. The proposed 384-foot tower was designed to feature approximately 140,880 square feet primarily for data center operations, along with ground-floor retail space and a coffee shop.
Following the Planning Commission's rejection, Revitalization Unlimited retains the option to appeal the decision and present their case directly to the Kansas City City Council.
