The Manse Technology Group plans to develop the approximately 900-acre, $18.4 billion project, formerly known as Project Blackjack, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027, pending approvals. The company's representatives will attend the town hall to address community questions and concerns.
The development is expected to significantly boost Nye County's economy, becoming one of its largest taxpayers, generating tens of millions annually in property taxes, and creating thousands of construction and permanent jobs. These revenues are intended to support schools, public safety, and other essential services.
Currently, Nye County has enacted a temporary moratorium on new data centers while it works to adopt stricter regulations for these facilities. Although a recent commission meeting considered an ordinance to permanently ban data centers in Pahrump, this proposal did not advance. This discussion follows a nationwide day of protest against AI data centers, which saw participation from Pahrump residents.
