Commissioners say they would vote against Posey County data center
Posey County commissioners are indicating they would vote against a proposed data center location. While no formal proposal has been submitted, commissioners cite concerns about heavy truck traffic and construction activity in the Over Quirk Road area. A public hearing is expected on the matter.
All three Posey County commissioners are currently opposing a possible data center location, according to Commission President Bill Cole. While no formal proposal has yet been submitted to the county, Cole stated that the existing heavy truck traffic and ongoing construction in the Over Quirk Road area make it an unsuitable site for industrial development.
The other two commissioners have voiced their agreement with Cole's stance. A public hearing on the matter is anticipated.
